Why these 10 dimensions
Medical school admissions committees in the UK and Australia evaluate applicants across several independent dimensions, not a single combined score — a strong UCAT result doesn't compensate for a personal statement with no clinical reflection, and strong grades don't compensate for undocumented work experience. This assessment mirrors that structure: academic strength, UCAT readiness, work experience depth and reflection, personal statement quality, interview preparation, school-selection strategy, application timeline management, financial planning, and — for reapplicants — realistic self-assessment of what changed since a previous rejection.
The scoring bands are calibrated against publicly reported profiles of successful applicants (published UCAT percentile bands from the UCAT Consortium and UCAT ANZ, and admissions committees' own published guidance on work experience and personal statement expectations) rather than an arbitrary curve. That means a low score in one dimension is not a prediction of rejection — it is a specific, named gap you have time to close before submitting.
What this tool can't tell you
Self-reported answers are only as accurate as your own honesty when answering — the tool cannot verify your UCAT score, check your personal statement for cliché, or assess how you'll actually perform in an MMI station. It also can't account for how competitive a specific year's applicant pool is, or for factors specific to one school's admissions criteria that year.
